Going on a vacation? Here's everything you will ever need to know about preparing your spa for vacation.
You took out the garbage, set your lights on a timer, and packed your bags for that vacation you have been dreaming about all month - but are you forgetting something? Your hot tub will need maintenance before you hit the road, especially if you're planning an extended get away. If you don't take the necessary steps to prep your spa for vacation, you could come back to algae growth and green water.
Prep your spa before you leave to avoid unwanted bacteria growth while you're gone.
Hot Tub Vacation Prep in 4 Easy Steps:
1. Test the water balance
Based on the results of the water test, add the appropriate chemicals to increase the acidity or alkalinity of your water. Maintaining proper water chemistry helps to minimize bacteria levels in the water.
2.  Adjust the Temperature
An east way to save energy when you’ll be out of town for several days is to lower the temperature by about 10 degrees, just don't forget to warm it back up when you are back from your travels.
3. Quick Pre-Clean
Use your hose to quickly clean off any dirt and debris from your water filter. It is a good idea to give your spa cover a quick wipe down as well.
4. Lock Your Cover
Do not forget to lock your spa cover before you leave. This protects your spa from any outside bacteria or inclement weather changes while you are away!
Hot tub vacation prep is that easy!
